'Dogs Class To Hunker Down in 2011.

Coach Richt and his coaching staff worked hard on this recruiting class. Put time in early and got some outstanding pieces (Murray, Ealey, Burnette, & Abry Jones). Branden Smith jumped on the wagon a little early too. The staff has been busy lately trying to finish strong. A little good news in signing day could make this a top class.
Columbus LB Jarvis Jones, Memphis WR Marlon Brown and Tampa TE Orson Charles are the target. Hit on a couple of these guys and this class sparkles. Imagine Brown and Green lining up together at receiver. Mix in Charles working the middle of the field at TE and that's special. QBs Aaron Murray and Zach Mettenberger would be loving that in 2010. That's two big, talented targets to throw it to for 3-4 years.
The Georgia O-Line situation is looking up. Chris Burnette and Austin Long look like can't miss guys. Coach Searels has turned things around. When he showed up you could count the OL on one hand. Now, add these 3 pups to the mix with Cordy Glenn, Ben Jones, Tanner Strickland, A.J. Harmon, Ben Harden, Justin Anderson, Kiante Tripp, Josh Davis, Chris Davis, Trinton Sturdivant, Clint Boling and Vince Vance. Bet Murray and Mettenberger are loving this too.
The RB group is young and talented. Add Washaun Ealey to the mix. Caleb King, Richard Samuel, Dontavious Jackson and Carlton Thomas will all be competing for PT.
With or without Jarvis Jones, this is a solid linebacker group... Vasser, Gilliard, Moody. Getting Jarvis Jones would be a huge boost. This is a need position...as in need to find some impact LBs to play with Rennie Curran. Robinson and Dowtin are a year into the transition and figure to push Dent, Gamble and Dewberry.
In the secondary, Smith, Jordan Love and Shawn Williams look like players. who can make an impact early. Branden might make some noise as a true freshman. He's expecting to challenge Brandon Boykin and Sanders Cummings at CB. Vance Cuff beware...
might want to step up or step out of the way. At safety, the 'Dogs sign Shawn Williams. He will compete with John Knox and Baccari Rambo for early playing time.
Up front, Jones, Lee and Lott will be added to an already deep position group. Coach Garner will be loving the competition at DT...Atkins, Owens, Weston, Tyson, Crawford, and Wood. At DE, Montez Robinson joins a group searching for impact players. Houston and Cornelius Washington have a big upside. Ball and Longo figure to be in the mix. Dobbs could take another step closer to being an impact guy. Battle will be a senior.
Stay tuned. This could be good.
