Rating the High School QB's

All the Top 25 programs signed one. Georgia managed to sign two. The top-rated prep QBs are now headed off to college with big dreams. And big skills. These dudes are showing up ready to compete for a spot. Beware upperclassmen.
Spent some time over the last month breaking these top high school quarterbacks down. Thought I'd share what I learned. I'll begin with the Bulldogs two Qbs.
Aaron Murray: Really polished mechanics. Solid Fundamentals. At 6'1 needs to stand tall in the pocket and does. Good arm (7 on a 10 scale). Steps into throw and snaps off the intermediate throws. Shows good touch on the fade, checkdown throws and off the scramble. Really accurate on the deep ball. Poised in the pocket, never seems rushed. The thing that sets him apart is his escapability. Excels out of the pocket. All shotgun at Plant HS. Needs to get to work with Bobo on taking the snap and making his drop. Reminds me of Colt McCoy. Coach Richt says Casey Weldon.
Zach Mettenberger: Big body (6'5, 225) and big arm (8-9 on 10 scale). Ability to stick it in tight places and get it downfield, but also displays some nice touch on short and deep throws. Really like the way he can come quickly off the primary receiver and go through his progression. Reminds me of Chad Henne. Coach Richt says Brad Johnson.
GT's Jordan LuAllen: 6'3", 195. Ran a Wing-T system at his Indiana HS. Really excels running the ball. In the open field, looked like a big-time RB toting the rock. Can make'm miss. Throwing motion needs some work, but has a good arm. Accurate on the run. Leadership skills evident watching video. He appears to be a great fit for GT. Look for this guy to compete for the job soon.
Alabama's A. J. McCarron: 6'4", 190. Long and tall. Slight frame. Once he matures, this guy looks like he has the right stuff to be Alabama's QB of the future. Nice throwing motion. Good arm (7). Can zip it when he steps into the throw. Shows nice touch on deep ball and red zone/end zone throws. Mobile. Can run. Footwork needs a little work...too much back-peddling going on once he sets up. Reminds me of a young Tom Brady. Saban got a good one.
Auburn's Tyrik Rollison. 6'1, 185. Really polsihed passer. Touch pass his strength (fade, out, flag, corner). Fundamentals look solid. Smooth delivery and good footwork. Displays a good pump fake on double moves. Excels on the scramble....looks to throw outside the pocket, but runs away from DL. More polished than Kodi Burns, but not as strong a runner.
Clemson's Tajh Boyd. 6', 190. Quick release. Throws tight spirals. Good footwork on set-up. A scrambler. A playmaker. Good arm. Has dual-threat ability. Korn and Parker better come to play this fall, because this kid is a baller.
Wake Forest's Brendan Cross. 6', 185. Throws a catchable ball. Stands tall in the pocket, with an over-hand release. Looks comfortable. Has a good sense of the rush, without looking at it. manages the game really well. Like his ability out of the pocket too. Accurate on the run. Scrambles with the intent to find a receiver downfield. The next Riley Skinner. Grobe got a good one.
North Carolina's Bryn Renner. 6'2, 190. Pocket passer. But pretty good scrambling around too. Confident guy. Physically mature. Reminds me of a young Brees. Loves the idea of throwing it to Jheranie Boyd (top WR signee).
