Georgia QBs Have Dangerous Weapons
Green and Brown. Get used to that one. A.J. torched SEC defenses last year as a true freshman. Now here comes Marlon Brown. Joe Cox must be thinking his patience paid off. And Gray, Murray and Mettenberger will be fighting it out to get the next shot in 2010.
A.J. Green and Marlon Brown look like a dangerous mix.
The 'Dogs at some point soon, will have Green on one side and Brown on the other. These are two very athletic, long, tall receivers. Both are 6'4" and both can run like a deer. Did I mention both have outstanding hands. Wait; there is more. Both are committed to being great. Highly skilled and driven to succeed. Can't wait to see this.
With Massaquoi exiting, I expected to see some drop-off at WR in 2009. Thought Green would be getting all the coverage attention. DC's would roll coverage his way. Play a hard corner, and a safety over the top. Try to limit A.J. Force Moore or Durham to beat them. But this addition may change things.
Marlon Brown is as impressive as Green at the high school level. A man among boys in that Memphis area. The video tells me the young man is physically mature. His hands are strong. He's elusive. The can leap. He runs as fast as he needs to to outrun DBs. Looks like the real deal. The total package. An impact player.
Put Marlon out there next to Green...and what the Bulldogs offense has is one dangerous combination. Joe Cox must be thrilled. Stafford must be a little jealous. This appears to be the most dangerous WR combination in Georgia football history. Seriously. Two absolute studs to throw the ball to. No wonder Murray AND Mettenberger both signed on.
Imagine if Murray's go-to-guy---Orson Charles---decides to join his HS QB in Athens? Charles working the middle of the field, Green and Brown working the outside. Wow.
