Awesome Golf Experience
Finally pulled the trigger on a set of new irons. The Ping I3's just hit the 7 year mark and it was past time to get in some new equipment. So, off to the PGA Tour Superstore I went ready to test the latest and greatest. Kevin led me over to the state-of-the-art simulator and we went to work. Okay, so it was a lot more fun that work normally is. Kevin would hand me a stick, and I'd hit it a few times. Then, he'd had me another. And another. He was focused in the ball flight and the spin rate. We tried the different shafts. We examined the face of the club to see where contact was being made. And twenty minutes later, I had tested all the top irons.
I settled on the Callaway X-22's with a dynamic gold S300 shaft and placed the order. They arrive on my doorstep in a day or two.
What an awesome experience...getting fitted like a pro. I may not hit it consistently like Sergio, Phil and Cink, but the PGA Tour Superstore fitting experience sure made me feel like I was in their club. Now it's time to start shaving a little off my 3 handicap. Hope to hit it closer on the approach and make a few more putts in 2009. Although the BB Tour event schedule is still limited to under 10 events, until the children get a little older.
Anyway, if you are dragging behind with your eqipment, get out to the PGA Tour Superstore and get hooked up. It just does't get any better than this. It'll take like 20 minutes. The fitting process will even tell you what ball you need to be hitting.
