Bad day for the Falcons today. They didn't get better. And that wasn't because they didn't get their work in. Coach Smith had'm in full pads in a single session. The Falcons "THUMPED" for two hours. It would have gone down as a good work day but one of the young warriors went down.
    Harry Douglas, who was having an impressive camp working in Roddy's place, went down after he got his legs tangled up running a pass route against tight coverage, Looked like he grabbed his left knee. Finneran and Jenkins surrounded him. Head trainer Ron Medlin rushed to his side. Moments later, Medlin helped him off the field and they carted him inside. Within the hour, he left the facility on crutches, for futher evaluation. 
    And there is a big drop-off in skill from Douglas and the next man...believe that would be Weems. Big drop-off. Douglas is special because he can shake-and-bake out in the open field. Avoid contact. Split DBs. And he catches everything. Fearless. Gets great acceleration out of his cuts too. 
    Roddy White was sad to hear the news, I'm sure but the price just went up. Or at least get what he's been asking. Fitzgerald money. The Falcons are standing "Firm and Fair" right now. But when the news comes down that Douglas is out, reality will set in quick. They need Roddy now more than ever. By the way, Mr. Blank is expected back the next 24 hours. Maybe that will further speeed the process.
    #1 pick Peray Jerry was working with the #1 defense today. Not because he's been terrorizing the O-Line. It's because Trey Lewis was watching today. Guess he's hurting somewhere. Thing is: I'd rather Jerry earn the promotion. Can't say he's done that yet.
