Breakout Game for Richard Samuel?

Caleb King won't be making the trip to Stillwater because he still can't run full speed. So, pencil Richard Samuel in for a full workload. Coach Bob and Searels probably already had him tagged for a busy day anyway. But now it's clear he'll need to have a career day.
Last season, Samuel carried it 26 times. Richard might get it more than that in this one against Oklahoma State.
Carlton Thomas will now be the back-up. This is his debue into big-time CF. Bobo will have a small package of plays for the shifty, speedy, undersized back, but I doubt they will want to depend on him too much. Probably see how it goes, but you've got to expect the plan is for him to touch it 5-10 times max. Carlton is listed at 178 lbs., so he needs to prove to Bobo that he can hold up physically.
Kalvin Daniels is the next man up after Thomas. If Samuel is having a good day, probably won't see much of Daniels.
Freshman Washaun Ealey will make the trip and is on stand-by. Use him, if we need him.
It all adds up to Richard Samuel getting his number called early and often. He'll get an opportunity to have a breakout game. The educated guess says he gets 22 carries and 3-4 receptions in the game. That is a full workload for a first time sophomore starter. We should learn a lot about this kid Saturday. My first impression is that he is fearless. The contact isn't an issue. If he can hold on to the ball, break some tackles, and bust a long one...that might add up to a 150 yard day. And a day for him to remember.
