Arizona State will take the field at Sanford Stadium with only 7 players who have experienced a non-conference road game. The last one was a trip to Colorado in 2006. On the Sun Devils 44-man depth chart, 26 players are in their 1st or 2nd season. Dennis Erickson is busy rebuilding this program. He's probably a year away from making some noise in the Pac-10. Right now, they are paying some dues.
    As they've gotten younger, this team has improved its speed and athleticism. Coach Erickson is preparing to sign his 4th recruiting class. And he's upgraded the talent pool. But they aren't ready to come in to Sanford Stadium and get a win. 
    Look past the starters---they do have 13 seniors starting---there are 26 freshmen/redshirt freshmen/sophomores getting playing time. These guys are young and away from home for the first time.
