Bengal Tigers Between the Hedges
After watching LSU against MIssissippi State, I don't think the interior of the Tiger offense can handle our D-Tackles. Owens, Weston, Atkins, Tyson and Jones should handle these guys. The Justin Houston-Ciron Black match-up looms large and that match-up looks like one of the games best. Houston looks primed for a breakout game. This would be a good Saturday to break out!
LSU wants to run the ball, but so far they are having real trouble doing it (10th in SEC/3.8 yards per carry). That's a sign the O-Line isn't getting it done right now up front (and they've allowed 7 sacks). The Bulldogs D-line needs to win this battle.
The Bengal Tigers feature a dynamic duo at WR: 6'3" Brandon LaFell & 6'5" Terrance Toliver. This is a tough match-up for the 'Dog CBs: 5'8" Prince Miller & 5'10" Brandon Boykin. Look for LSU to try and get some jump ball situations downfield. Sanders Commings was impressive in coverage against ASU at CB in the Nickel Pkg. At 6'2", 214 lbs. he matches up a little better outside.
The Bulldog offense is having some issues running the ball too. 'Dogs are 10th in the SEC, averaging 112 yards a game and 3.6 yards per rush. That's why you see Coach Searels still switching things up on the O-Line. Cordy Glenn started the season at right guard, moved to left guard and now is the left tackle.
Look for LSU CB Patrick Peterson to match up with A.J. Green some Saturday. They were two of the most highly rated recruits in the 2008 class and they both played good ball as freshmen. Now they are experienced Sophomores. And expect LSU safety Chad Jones to be focusing on A.J. too. Jones won the game for the Bengal Tigers in Starkpatch last Saturday, with a goal-line pas break up. He also returned a punt for a touch.
Georgia can't be turning it over this week and expect to win. LSU would feast on TOs.
