Can Bulldogs Beat LSU?
The answer to that question is yes. But it won't come easy. I'm still a little surprised that there are so many Georgia fans that still doubt Coach Richt and his staff, when it comes to big games like this. Richt's Bulldogs have whipped LSU three straight times. The 'Dogs put up 50-plus on these guys in their backyard last season. Have some confidence.
LSU has a lot of doubters coming into this match-up too. What's up with that? Reminds me of a trend stat that involves both programs. Did you know that since Richt took over the Bulldog program in 2001, Georgia is 85-23. That's one game back of LSU's 86-22, which leads the way in the SEC. Florida is 82-27 during that time frame.
How does #18 Georgia beat #4 LSU? That's easy: win every individual match-up. Cordy Glenn beats Rahim Alem. A.J. Green beats Patrick Peterson. Justin Houston beats Ciron Black. Sanders Commings beats Brandon LaFell. Sanders Commings? Last week against ASU, Commings played some CB in the Nickel and held up fine. He's a long 6'2" and has the skill set to match up better against LaFell & Toliver, than say Branden Smith. Looks to me that the best 3 CBs are Miller, Boykin and Commings. When Prince graduates, Smith takes over the slot CB spot in the nickel.
The best case scenario for Georgia is this: Atkins, Weston and Owens stuff the run, and Houston rips past Black on a 1Q pass rush and rattles Jordan Jefferson's cage. Jefferson is making only his 6th start and he's just 19 years old. Toss him around early and get that Sanford Stadium crowd loud and crazy. That's a tough enviroment for a young QB to bring his team back in.

Hey Buck, Something that nobody has talked about yet is the fact that LSU has not played a game yet on a dry field. All of their games have been in a deluge...especially Vandy and Miss St. Well over 2" of rain in those games and an inch or better in the Husky and UL-L game. You've played in down pours yourself and know how much fun that can be...Just saying, it might be interesting how they may look on Saturday in DRY weather. Good luck to your Dawgs!

Hello Buck,
I was at UGA when you were. I was talking to a friend of mine today about music, and a song popped into my head from back in those days. It was called "Bustin' Loose, Part 1". It went: "I feel like bustin' loose, bustin' loose, give me the bridge now, give me the bridge now!"
I then remembered how during that year's football season, we sang the lyrics like this: "I feel like Buck Belue, Buck Belue, give me the ball y'all, give me the ball y'all!'
I left Georgia in 1980 and have lived up north ever since. I wondered today what had happened to you. Nice to find you. Here's a link to the song:
