Post-Game Blues & Notes
Washaun Ealey looked impressive toting the rock. He was creating and find some razor-thin lanes to hit. Samuel and King didn't see them, or create them. Ealey showed some patience...let the blocks take place, and then accelerate through the cracks. He's just got a natural instinct and some super skills. Why not start him? Why hasn't he played until now? Concerns over busted assignments...hasn't mastered which blitzing LB to catch in pass protection.
What's up with fans leaving early, and the game hanging in the balance? Don't get it. Why even come?
Herschel told me in the press box he fights in December. I've never seen him so blown up. His upper body was huge.
Met the parents of both QBs before the game. Mrs. Jefferson is 6'3". Mr. Jefferson was one cool dude. They said the Georgia fans had been really nice. They are really proud of their son. And I'm really impressed. Told Mr. Cox that I was really proud of Joe and admire the way he has handled things at Georgia.
Met Stacy Searels Mom too. She lives in the Athens suburbs. Told her how happy I was he passed on that Auburn job, and that I get a kick out of his reluctance to speak to the media. She says he's just a little shy and stubborn. And that decision was the toughest he has ever had to make. Having Mom living nearby had to help Georgia in this one.
Georgia's run game really missing a run-blocking tight-end. Figgins suspension has really hurt. Now I'm hearing he has an option of redshirting.
Back to the fans...all those late arrivals are annoying. Guess those are the same folks who are leaving early.
Walsh picked a bad time to miss that chip-shot field goal.
Thought Bobo did a nice job play-calling, with the OL getting whipped up front.
