Martinez the Whipping Boy

Willie is just getting killed by most Georgia fans. He and his family are hurting because of it. These fans want him out now. And it may be almost impossible for Richt to keep him at the end of the season.
But again, to me it's more about personnel than about his coaching.
Oh Belue, you're nuts. What are you protecting Willie for? He's terrible.
I keep going back to this: in 2007, the 'Dogs defense was at the top of the SEC. Georgia was #3 in scoring defense: 20.2 per game. 'Dogs were #3 in rush defense. They forced 26 turnovers and sacked the QB 42 times...tops in the SEC. Did he forget how to coach? Think not.
It's the personnel. And yes, they recruited them.
DE is a weak spot again this season. Houston is talented, but no one else is ready to play well. Cornelius Washington and Montez Robinson are too young, but look good in 2010 and beyond. When Georgia's defense has played well, it's had quality DEs...Howard, Moses, Charles Johnson, Pollack. They don't have that now.
Right now, teams are running it right at the DEs. The safety play has been poor. There are some youth issues at CB.
The problems go beyond Martinez, but in the end he's probably the guy on the way out.
