Thoughts from the Huddle

How can this be? I've got this ACC magazine that listed all the big games in conference this season--13 big games are listed-- and not one of them is Georgia Tech-Virginia Tech. I was thinking that would be the biggest game of the year in the ACC. And it looks like it is. Recruiting classes at Georgia: maybe the staff is signing too many 4-5 star guys and not enough guys with a burning desire to be successful. And the class may be Top 10 rated, but if you have a shortage of guys in a certain position group---like OL--then 4-5 years down the road you've got a problem. I question the philosophy of having a class that only includes 1 OL (Georgia 2005).
Just 5 years ago, the SEC had only 1 offense averaging over 30 points a game...this season that number is 5. In fact the conference average for offenses is 29.8. The spread has coring up. The polls are as crazy as ever. How does #4 LSU take #1 down to the final minutes and hold them to 13 points...then fall almost out of the Top 10? Don't get it. And come on, Boise, TCU and Cincy aren't going to beat Ohio State, LSU or MIami.
Bowl Projections: GT/VT in Orange opposite Boise State or TCU. 'Dogs is Independance vs. Texas Tech or MIssouri, or the Chick-fil-A La opposite BC/WF. Title Game Florida-Texas. Alabama in Sugar opposite Cincy? Lousy.
Best individual match-up of the weekend: A.J. Green matched up against Myron Lewis...both look like #1 picks in the NFL draft.
