What Went Wrong in J-Ville

In the postgame press conference scene, Urban Meyer told us, "I'm giving every senior a game ball, because that was one of the biggest team wins we've had at Florida."  Translation: We're so proud to have dominated all 3 phases of the game...offense, defense and special teams.
Richt told us, " The staff decided to surprise the players after warming up (with the black gear), because we were looking for more juice." Translation: Mark knew it was going to take a special performance to beat #1 Florida.
I thought the Bulldogs came to fight. They got after it. It was chippy.
I thought Bobo's plan was good. The RBs ran it effectively most of the time. He dusted off the 2 tight end formation, which helped block for the run. Protection was good and Joe could step up in the pocket most of the time. I liked the pass play with Ealey running the seam...that was a big play early. There were some good wrinkles built in. The ball didn't go to A.J. Green enough. That's my criticism.
Defensively, I didn't like the fact that we didn't come out in the 1st possession and put some pressure on. We played "off coverage" early and they got it going with some quick stuff. They also hit us outside with the run game in those first 2 TD drives. Boom: 14-0. After that, Martinez got aggressive, the guys settled in and played pretty tough.
Tebow was awesome. Cooper's TD catch was amazing.
Joe Cox took the blame after the game, but that's just Joe being Joe. Those 3 picks weren't on him really. That 1st play of the 2nd half was a Gator making a play...A.J. Jones deflects a hitch route throw and picks it off. That's a not a QB making a poor decision or a bad throw. INTC #2: it's 3rd down and 2, 'Dogs have the power package in, and Bobo calls a play-action pass, with the FB in the flat... Chapas is covered and Joe is going to the 2nd option running a flag, when he gets drilled...ball's flight is altered, and the throw gets picked. Could have taken the sack. 3rd INTC: 31-17 score, 3rd down and 7, Joe drills a deep crossing route to A.J. and he gets hit...ball goes up in the air...interception.
And Richt isn't thinking about benching him. That's bull.
Florida's #1 and played like it. Good news to report: The 'Dogs don't have to face Tebow anymore.
