Georgia-Auburn: Who Can Stop Who?
The South's Oldest Rivalry resumes Saturday with the big question being: Can either defense stop the other offense?
Chris Todd and Ben Tate present a big challenge to the Georgia defense. And Auburn also has some big-play ability this season and that has been missing from their attack the last couple of years. The Tigers have 14 plays over 40-yards this year...last season they had 5. They have had 51 plays over 20-yards and last year they had 39. Darvin Adams and Terrell Zachery have stepped up at receiver and are making plays.
Georgia's offense suddenly has found a running attack and Auburn's defense has been disappointing against the run. Look for Bobo to attack'm with Ealey and Caleb King, running behind Glenn and Boling on the left side. Auburn is a little light on that side. Also, A.J. Green presents some big issues for the Tiger CBs, Walter McFadden and Neiko Thorpe. Georgia's biggest problem is Auburn DE Antonio Coleman working on Josh Davis...Bobo & Searels better give Davis some help or Coleman will eat Cox for dinner.
And how much will we see Georgia in that "Wild Dawg" formation with Branden Smith taking the snap? Bet Ted Roof is wondering the same thing.
One thing is a given...you've got to think the scoreboard operator at Sanford Stadium is on a curfew this week, in anticipation of a high-scoring game.
