Here Comes Kentucky

Rich Brooks was on Dan Reeves staff that took the Falcons to the Super Bowl. This will be the 4th year in a row Coach Brooks has led Kentucky to a bowl game. Need I say more? The 'Cats are well-coached and will have a solid plan Saturday Between the Hedges.
Kentucky's offense is running the ball effectively. Ran for over 300 yards against Vanderbilt last Saturday (the most in 5 years). They ran for 280 against Auburn. This is a run oriented attack this season: 62.5% run. That's because of the personnel. Right now, the 'Cats have a freshman QB.
How do they do it? In 2 ways. RB Derrick Locke is a 5'9" 190 lb. dude who can run it between the tackles. Against Vandy, he went 25-144. And he is staring down at a 1,000 yard season (needs 259 in the last 2 games). He gets most of his touches in the traditional offense. Randall Cobb is operating the Wildcat Formation and he is driving defenses crazy. Cobb is a WR/QB/RB combo. And he has scored 12 TDs. Both of these guys also return kicks.
To beat Kentucky, Georgia has to stop Locke and Cobb.
The 'Cats defense plays a physical style. In SEC play, they have allowed 27.5 points per game. But take out Florida & Bama and that number goes down to 21.5. Auburn's offense was held to just 14 points at home. They just shut out Vandy in the 2nd half. The Georgia offense will have a tough challenge.
