Buck's Heisman Trophy Ballot
The Heisman Trophy voting deadline was Monday 5:00 pm. They ask you to list your Top 3. This year the vote was a little more confusing. Normally, it seems pretty obvious who the man is. Not this time.
I went Suh, McClain and Spiller. 1-2-3. Just joking, I do wish this award could go to a lineman or linebacker sometimes, when the backfield is so cloudy, like this year. And I find it amusing too, that so many fans get caught up in the performances of the last game...like it's a 1-game trophy. Who had the best last game? These are the same folks who just go to the statistics and see who has the best numbers. His stats are the best, so vote for him!
My vote read: 1- Colt McCoy, 2- Tebow, 3- Spiller. Suh, Ingram, and Gerhart got serious consideration. And so did Rolando McClain.
The critics are slamming McCoy because of his 3 INTC against Nebraska. Only 1 of the 3 picks was a bad QB play. I gained even more respect for Colt watching him deal with the adversity (that every player faces). He got sacked 9 times! The last time I checked that was an O-Line issue. Colt not only survived, but also led his team back to win in the final seconds. Colt McCoy has carried this Longhorn team to an undefeated regular season, a Big 12 title and a shot at the National Championship. He raised the Texas level of play all season. And the stats? The Texas offense averaged 40+ points (#3 in CF). He completed 70% of his attempts and was responsible for 30 TDs. He earned my vote.
Tebow #2? That's right. Carried the Gators all season on his back. Best leadership of any player in CF. Responsible for 31 TDs and his offense averaged 34+ points in the SEC. He threw it, he ran it. He dominated, until the loss to Bama. And remember, most of the night Tim was on the sideline watching the Alabama offense cut through that Florida defense.
Spiller was #3 on my ballot. Talk about finishing with a bang...20 carries, 233 yards and 4 TDs against GT. Dude scored in every way possible. He ran for over 1,200 yards, caught 33 balls and returned 5 kicks for TDs. He scored 25 TDs total (10 more than Ingram). Spiller was also toughing it out playing hurt. C.J. should be in New York. Period.

Mark Ingram not even ranked 3rd?
You don't get out much, do you?
