'Dogs QB Battle

So, who's leading the Georgia QB competition? Who is going to start? Is it Murray? But how about Mettenberger's big scrimmage? Are they going to move Logan Gray to WR right now? Come on, give us answers!
Chill out! You don't need to have these answers yet. As Coach Richt mentioned yesterday, they don't know yet. Try to relax.
Zach and Aaron had some good numbers in the scrimmage. Both hit for big-play touchdowns, with A.J. and Wooten on the other end of long catches. Logan got sacked 3 times and missed on more than he hit, but there are no plans to banish him yet. It's just one scrimmage. There are 2 more before G-Day.
Will Bobo and Richt declare a winner after the G-Day scrimmage? Perhaps. Maybe. They will probably establish a pecking order on the depth chart, but I don't believe that will be written in stone.
To me, the big test will come in real games. How will the spring competition winner perform against Louisiana-Lafayette? And against South Carolina in Columbia? That's going to decide who the starter is for 2010. And Richt won't know the answer to those questions for months. Again, winning the job on the practice field is just one step to becoming the next Georgia QB. It's how you perform in the games, with real bullets flying around, that decides who the QB is.
Doesn't do you much good to have the best scrimmage stats, if you don't follow that up with a solid outing against LA-Laf.
