Walked Augusta National

Got to walk Augusta National today. It's a special wallk. The slope takes your breath away immediately. The view down the 10th fairway is just spectacular. And #11 is a monster. Furyk hit driver/5 metal into the green. The azaleas at Amen Corner are about to explode with blooms. It was hot today (Tuesday), the patrons were sweating and huffing and puffing. Observed Butch Harmon giving Nick Watney a putting lesson. The advice: "Light'n the grip." Then, he rolled in 10 in a row. Cink and Lucas Glover were hanging out on the new practice range. Conditions are going to be firm and fast. Tiger played the front 9 with O'Meara and was done at 12:30. Phil played with O'Hair and Dustin Johnson. The Eisenhower is old on #17 that the limbs are being held up by wire and hooks. Got one of those Masters sandwiches for $1.75. The ride over from Atlanta on I-20 is always interesting. Most all the cars are loaded up with men. This is a "guy's trip." One SUV had a driver complete with the top hat, serving 3-4 men in the parking lot of the last rest area before Augusta. This is a fashion show. The ladies are all dressed up cute. Even the guys wear their best golf shirts. Bright colors are in this year, especially purple. Pad Harrington and Singh put in a long session of practice...their plan: out work them. Some of these amatuers are enjoying the experience. You can always tell who they are, when they stop off a tee or green and pose for pictures. If you haven't done this, put it on the bucket list. It's a must-do. Come over and soak it all up. The practice round badges are a wonderful experience. I only spent $300 in the souvenir shop, and it was all on the family.
