The Forgotten Man
Logan Gray is the forgotten man, right now. But I wouldn't be surprised if he springs back into the conversation early in the season. Logan is working at WR now. A.J. is saying Logan is running smooth routes. And he does appear to be another legit option for Aaron Murray to get the ball to.
The plan is to keep him at WR, unless Aaron is banged up. Plan B at QB.
But I bet Coach Bobo has a package ready to use against Carolina or Arkansas. Call it the Wild Dawg, or just Logan lining up in the shotgun formation. Something in the gameplan to catch the defense off guard. A change-up, in football terms. Get Logan out there and get him running around. Bootleg him. Roll him out. Run that zone read, where the QB fakes to the RB and runs it. Give the DC something else to worry about.
This would give Murray a breather. Take some of the heat off him. Logan's skill set is so different than Aaron. It would allow Bobo to get to some plays he otherwise wouldn't be calling. Plus, Logan deserves some P.T.
Is this in the plan? Well, Coach Bobo hasn't released his gameplan. And why would he do that anyway? But it sure looks like an option to me.
