The Ragin' Cajuns

The 'Dogs are going to overwhelm the Ragin' Cajuns in 12 days. Strength in numbers comes to mind...as in the number of quality players. Louisiana-Lafayette doesn't have a lot of those guys. The Bulldogs are loaded with them. It's not really a fair fight. And everyone knows that going in.
Louisiana-Lafayette just wrapped up camp with a 102 play scrimmage, in 100*-plus temp's. That was the headline. Check it out on their website. It didn't read: QB Chris Masson throws for 4 scores and 250 yards or WR Marlin Miller scores 3 TDs. They survived the scrimmage. And that's what Coach Rickey Bustle's team is going to try and do this season. The Ragin' Cajuns were 6-6 last season. They are staring down at a 3-9 this year.
Coach Richt is not one to run up the score, but remember he's already stated that they are looking to move up from that #21 preseason spot in the coaches poll. How do you move up? Dominate the opponent.
The gameplan for Georgia won't be complicated. Offensively, the 'Dogs will come out running the ball and taking some shots downfield off the play-action. Maybe a reverse or two, just to get the Gamecocks thinking about it. The Ragin' Cajuns defense was terrible stopping the run the last few years. They gave up like 180 yards a game. Getting cut like a hot knife through butter. Aaron Murray needs to play into the 2nd half, but mainly to manage the offense, not throw it 40 times.
Defensively, the plan will be to throw 40 mean 'Dogs at them. Play the 2-deep freely. Take a look at a few guys like Alec Ogletree. GATA. Crowd the LOS. Tight coverage. Whip them up front. Hit them hard. And yeah, Grantham is going to blitz'm. But don't worry, there will be plenty of blitz packages left for Garcia and South Carolina and Mallet & Arkansas.
Louisiana-Lafayette got beat by Nebraska last season 55-0. LSU whipped them 31-3. This one will be somewhere inbetween. Something like 50-10.
Look, this isn't about giving them some bulliten board material to get all fired up. It's just the simple truth. Georgia is looking to move up with some big-time talent. The Ragin Cajuns are just trying to survive.
