Can 'Dogs Run It At Gamecocks?

One of the big keys for Georgia in Columbia Saturday is the ability to run the ball. Run it effectively and it takes a lot of pressure off the young QB making his first start in a hostile enviroment. Get Caleb & Washaun going and Aaron Murray doesn't feel the pressure to win the game with his arm and the possibility of turning the ball over goes down.
Being able to run it effectively on 1st & 10 will be important. Why? That would cut down on the number of 3rd & Long situations Murray would be in. 3rd & Long is an obvious passing situation and defenses focus on pressuring the QB. Not good for a young QB on the road in the SEC. Run it successfully on 1st down and the offense stays in manageable 3rd down situations. That scenario keeps the defense focused on the run game too. That's where Mike Bobo wants to be...3rd down & 2, 3rd down & 4, etc.
Didn't see the Georgia O-Line knocking the Ragin' Cajuns off the ball much last Saturday. Perhaps it's because Glenn, Jones and Davis missed some time in camp. Maybe they are back in sinc at Williams-Brice Stadium. That would be the best case scenario. Maybe Bobo was holding back on showing a lot of 2-TE sets. Going with 2 TE formations should help them run it.
South Carolina is strong on the back end and light up front. Time to get that running game cranked up.
