Good News For Dawg Fans
We need some good news, uh? This last couple of weeks have been a real downer.
Branden Smith, the 'Dogs 2nd most talented player, is back for Mississippi State. He and Boykin give Grantham a pair of skilled CBs. And on the road in the SEC, it's nice to have tight coverage on WRs, because that puts pressure on the QB to make good decisions...and that's not what the MSU QBs are known for right now. It really hurt us, when Branden missed the Arkansas game, because of a concussion in practice. Who says Richt doesn't have tough practices?
Caleb King is also back, after fighting an ankle sprain for a couple of weeks. This is big for the offense, if he can lift the running game. Holes were there against the Razorbacks last Saturday. The O-Line got some push and opened some running lanes, but Ealey and Thomas didn't take advantage of it. Caleb needs to hit the grounding running. that would be a big boost.
Some of you have responded with some interesting emails over the last few days. A few of you have insisted that I apply for the OC job, if I know so much. Not a chance. If I was in Mike Bobo's spot, I would have told the lunatic fringe to stick it where the sun don't shine by now.
I'll leave you with this from Coach Marv Levy, who said once, " Start listening to the fans in the stands, and you're bound to join them soon." Again, Mike is one of the top QB coaches in CF. We are lucky to have him.
