Mississippi State Loss Fallout

There are State fans in Starkville that are concerned Georgia will come after Dan Mullen. Connect the dotes: Greg McGarity was at Florida with Coach Mullen. Why would McGarity be interested in Mullen? Well, he just took lesser talent and beat Georgia. And they don't seem to get as many guys arrested.
Georgia fans are hurting right now, I know. So are the coaches and the players. This is tough to take. I kept waiting for MSU to fall apart, make mistakes, and give it up. That never happened. Our team couldn't make their team break. They finished it off. And it sure helps when you've got that home crowd behind you.
Grantham's defense just couldn't get them off the field on 3rd down. For as long as I can remember, Georgia has always seemed to have "difference makers" on the D-Line. Not the case this season. Those guys got shoved around in Starkville in crunch time. This has surprised me more than anything this season. No impact guys on the DL. Looked like Geathers spent his evening just standing on the sideline watching Tripp and Jones play on skates. Dent is the only LB making plays.
Don't like the way the DBs were playing off coverage either. Game was on the line late and we're playing our cover guys off 6-8 yards. Thought we were going to turn up the heat and pressure? Hunker down? Forced 1 turnover. Played like we were scared of Relf running the option.
Offensively wasn't pretty either. The RB position has been a huge disappointment. Ealey fumbled away the opportunity to tie the game at 7 in the 1st quarter. Then, we settle for 2 FGs (1 when Kris Durham scored, but Marlon was holding) in the 2nd quarter. That's got to be 21 points on the board.
Richt is right about him having to do a better job. It's true. McGarity isn't going to make any moves during the season. But he's examining things closely. And this is not acceptable.
