Garner Needs To Hit JUCO Scene

Grantham desperately needs some studs up front on the D-Line, if the 2011 'Dogs defense is going to be legit. Can't really count on some freshman showing up and playing physical, except for maybe Ray Drew. So, hit the JUCO scene! It worked for Alabama with Cody. It worked for Auburn and Fairley. It could work for us.
Toby Jackson is ready to graduate from his Texas JC (Navarro) next month. Sounds like the kid from Griffin has grown up and matured. He has commented that he wants to get back close to home. Garner should be out there trying to re-recruit him. He could start at DE in 2011.
Chip Towers (AJC.com) told me yesterday that Georgia might be going after DL Cornellius Carradine, who is one of the highest rated JUCO players this year. He's at Butler CC in Kansas with Mettenberger. Carradine has not committed to anyone yet. Still time to get in there with him, although Georgia is not listed as a college he is considering.
Alabama has already got a commitment from the top-rated JC DL. That's DT Jesse Williams, a 330-plus pound nose tackle. And the Tide has a VC from DE Quinton Dial, who is also one of the top-rated JUCO DL.
Grantham needs some strong, physical players on the D-Line to free up LB Jarvis Jones next season. He better get on the phone, while he's down in Thomasville recruiting Ray Drew, and get a few of these guys signed up and ready to go. Grantham is in Thomasville, right?
