Will Murray Be Ready for Tech?
Aaron Murray is taking it easy this week, trying to recover from the bruises suffered in the Auburn game. Call it the Fairley Hangover. His sternum and knee are bruised. Also hear his hair hurt too. Again, I was so impressed with his toughness. He never tapped out. And he wanted back in late. His teammates gained a new measure of respect for him after that game.
But will he be ready for Georgia Tech? Must admit...the off week before GT comes in handy this year. And not because of the extra time to prepare for the option. This year, it's about getting our QB healed up and ready to go.
There is good news: the Jackets defense continues to struggle against the run. 'Canes ran for 277. Hokies ran for 200. Clemson rushed for 236 yards. All Murray might have to do is hand it off. And remember last year, when the 'Dogs carved them up to the tune of 340 yards rushing? It was a beat down. Joe Cox only tossed it 14 times.
Murray should be ready. He's way to tough to not go. This is GT. You go, unless they had to cut your leg off. Will the GT defense try to cheap shot Aaron, in an effort to get him out of there? Again, this is GA-GT, man. It's brutal out there. Searels O-Line will have to do a good job of protecting him. Coach Bobo might have to cut back on calling plays that have Aaron out of the pocket, on the run.
The plan will be: run it. And throw it some from the pocket.
Will Murray be ready? I'm counting on it.
