Murray's Freshman Season Amazing
Have I mentioned how much I appreciate the toughness of Georgia QB Aaron Murray. He's saying that he'd play in this game with a broken leg. Of course, he won't have to. Aaron has been practicing in full pads the last two days and hasn't had any issues, with his ankle or the sternum. He'll be ready to go, when the lights come on Saturday night.
Aaron has put together one of the best freshman seasons a Georgia QB has ever had. He's sitting on 21 TD passes. David Greene had 17 his freshman year. Aaron needs 210 yards on Saturday to pass David's freshman record of 2,789 yards. Georgia's not losing because of poor QB play. Murray has put it together.
Look around college football. Aaron's season is better than any freshman. Maryland's Danny O'Brien has 17 TDs, but is only completing 54%. UCF's Jeffrey Godfrey is completing 65%, but only has 10 TDs. Penn State's Rob Bolden is way down the list. Murray is better than all of them.
The numbers are impressive, but it's the attitude and approach that I respect. He's playing to win.
Coach Mike Bobo deserves a shout out too. He does an outstanding job with the QBs at Georgia. Check out the last 3 years: Murray 21 TDs, Cox 24, Stafford a Georgia record 25. He coached up Shockley (24 TDs in 2005). And Greene. Mike doesn't get enough credit for the work he does with our quarterbacks.
Go get'm Saturday kid. And get down when you can. Need you for 4 quarters.
