'Dogs Visit Ray Drew
Sunday started another open period in college football recruiting. Coaches are swarming around everywhere there are top-rated players. And news of "in-home visits" are coming down quickly. Chip Towers is reporting that Richt and the Georgia staff were in North Carolina yesterday. And today, they are in Thomasville, Georgia visiting DL Ray Drew, who is the top-rated player in the state. LSU was reportedly there too.
Drew is a guy that could make an impact in year one. Bulldogs desperately need that up front on defense. And that is part of the sell...come to Georgia and play ball immediately. We need you now. Georgia needs to get Ray Drew. Can't let the top-rated player in the state go elsewhere.
Valdosta TE Jay Rome and his Dad had a busy day yesterday. Clemson, Alabama and Florida dropped in for visits. I understand Jay had a good visit to Georgia for the Tech game. Probably good that Orson Charles had that big TD catch for Jay to see. Rome has Georgia & Alabama even right now. He will officially visit Georgia for the big gala event on December 11th.
Richt ought to leave Grantham in Thomasville for an extended stay at the Holiday Inn.
Meanwhile, Richt heads to Valdosta tomorrow for a in-home visit with Jay Rome. Might want to see Malcolm Mitchell while he's in town. Dude made a ton of plays at WR this season for the Wildcats. Need some of that with Green and Durham leaving.
