Coach Grantham Impresses on B & K

Georgia DC Todd Grantham is a busy man. He's hit the recruiting scene hard. And he's got that Liberty Bowl gameplan to install. Not enough time in the day. But he did find time to join The Buck & Kincade Show on 680 The Fan for the first time today. Coach just got off the practice field, when HOF Claude Felton handed him the phone.
He sounded upbeat. Answered all the questions respectfully. He was cool. Really liked 2 things he spoke about.
As far as recruiting goes...Coach Grantham asks himself 1 question, when he's checking out a player: Can this guy help us beat Florida? Must say, I sure like that one.
And as far as next year's defense goes...he's already high on 2 guys: LB Jarvis Jones & Safety Alec Ogletree. Grantham believes they are impact guys in 2011. Jones has been getting a good look early in bowl practice, at both inside and outside LB. Todd wants to get a good look at where he needs to be next season. Grantham believes Ogletree will be a star next season in the secondary. The kid paid some dues late this season.
The missing piece is up front obviously. Need a difference-maker on the D-Line. I mean two. A dominant player on the DL would make Jarvis Jones and Alec Ogletree a lot better. Who is that impact guy? Not sure they have one.
Sure like how Grantham was able to flip the Forced Turnover stat in year one on the job. 'Dogs went from 12 to 24. A good start. Got to shave down that 25 number on points allowed in SEC games though. There is work to get done.
But it sounds like Grantham is working it. Georgia needs him to be a star. Someone to count on. Both on the field, and on the recruiting scene. Go get'm coach...all the Bulldogs are counting on you.
