Tarkenton Takes Shot at Richt

Fran Tarkenton is not a believer. And he said so last week on 680 The Fan's morning show. Basically, Fran stated that the program is in a 3-year downturn and he doesn't believe Richt can bring us out of it. He called out McGarity too, by saying the signs are there that the program is in big trouble. Ouch. Guess Fran won't be invited over to speak with the team anytime soon. Fran won't lose any sleep over that, however.
A lot of Georgia fans are wondering about McGarity's move of relieving Richt of some of the administrative duties that had piled up on him. Fran ripped this too, by the way. After some investigating, I discovered that this is something McGarity learned from Jeremy Foley at Florida. Foley did this with Coach Meyer. What does it mean exactly?
Less administrative meetings (academic, etc). Less "Bulldog Hotline" call-in shows. Less travel to speak at Bulldog Clubs. Things like that. Hopefully, less means more in 2011. Take away a lot of these time consuming duties that can drag a coach away from actually coaching.
2011 is a critical year for Coach Richt. Got to get it done. Criticism is raining down from all directions. No time to speak to the Albany TD Club...the total focus has got to be on getting the program back on the road and relevant.
