'Dogs & Bobo Get Xzavier Ward
Coach Bobo is cleaning up in south Georgia! Add Moultrie's Xzavier Ward to the list of big-time players Mike has recruited successfully. Kirby Smart better get back to Alabama and stay. The 'Dogs have reclaimed the south portion of the state, where Smart and Bobo are going head-to-head.
Ward is a beast. He's 6'7", 260 pounds and will mature into a grown man, while he's in Athens. Bet in a couple years, Xzavier is 290-300. He's really athletic for an OT, which allows him to match-up with those quick DEs on the edge rush---you'll hear this occasionally as having "good feet.". And he's fundamentally sound. Good technique. Tough, quiet and humble too. All good traits. I really like him.
Xzavier will probably work through a redshirt year and be ready to compete for playing time in 2012. But who knows. He might have to play some this season.
This "Dream Team" concept is connecting with these guys. Bobo has worked it in Valdosta, Moultrie and next up is Thomasville, where Ray Drew will announce on Friday morning. T-ville is Bobo's hometown. He's not losing Drew. It's looking like a clean sweep down south, with the top-rated players.
