'Dogs To Miss Out On Nkemdiche Brothers?

Who's the top high school player in the state of Georgia? Grayson DE Robert Nkemdiche would get most of those votes. As a sophomore last season, he dominated. Most of the time, he was unblockable. Expect more of the same this season, as a junior. And next year, Robert could be the top-rated player in the nation. He's that good.
His big brother, Denzel made some big noise this week, by committing to Ole MIss. He qualified late, turned down an opportunity to visit Georgia, and signed with Ole MIss. He said if only Georgia had contacted him sooner. And here is the kicker: Robert and Denzel have made it public that they plan to play together.
How does Georgia fit in? The Bulldogs have Robert at the top of their list. But the Bulldogs got in late on Denzel. Coach McClendon invited him in for an official visit next week. Coach Richt followed up with a call and an invite to visit. But they were too late.
...Not that again. That's the same storyline with Dillon Lee at Buford. Georgia was too late.
Richt played the Ogletree situation perfectly. Wonder why this one didn't work out?
So, Denzel will play for the Rebels. And now, we wait to see if Robert follows. Robert denied a report that he had secretly committed to Alabama. Guess the favorite now is Ole MIss. Not that the 'Dogs should give up on Robert. That'd be crazy.

Looks like we are missing out on a lot of recruits this year. Sure hope we have an awesome year or all hell will break loose in athens at the end of the season. You can say we are this years "all in" team. I sure am optimistic about this season, but there is some oh crap feelings in the back of my mind. Boise State is a must win and so is the SEC east now. Sure hope mark richt uses his 25 years of coaching experience this year

Our state produces some great athletes; there should be no reason why we don't get most of them. The Georgia coaching staff should always be the first to contact these boys. Many high school football players are prima donnas. Their egos need stroking. When they get to college, they will mature and grow out of that stage.

Buck, I fully agree with you. I'll say right off the bat that I can't remember all the names of high rated recruits in state, that UGA lost in past years, due mostly apparently to no early interest or no interest at all. It's mind boggling.

We, Bulldog fans, lucked out this year and I'm very grateful for the young men UGA signed. Their talents are yet to be proven in D1, but all indications are that they should help Georgia tremendously.

It is just no telling now what would have happened if UGA had got in the race early, or at all, on many athletes over the years who wound up going to Auburn, Alabama, Tenn, or Florida. If they were good enough for them they sure would have been good enough for Georgia, especially during CMR tenue.

I want to tell you that I appreciate your blog and comments and chance to reply.

    Go Dawgs!
