'Dogs D-Line A Strength!

Just checked out one of those pre-season magazines that listed the Top D-Lines in CF. No, Georgia wasn't in the Top 10. Boise State was, however (#6) and South Carolina was at #4. But that's based on who's coming back from last year. Anyway, truth be told...the 'Dogs DL has a chance to be outstanding.
Grantham believes this DL group is going to Hunker Down. He's adding 2 impact guys this season. Kwame Geathers was a beast in the spring. Transfer Jonathan Jenkins has arrived in great shape. Both are 330-plus and athletic. That's serious punch up front.
DeAngelo Tyson is now a physical DE @ 290. He took one for the team playing nose last season. This is where he should be. And he's a senior...motivated to go out with a bang. I like his chances of being an impact guy this season.
Both Abry Jones and Derrick Lott played a lot of ball last season. And they weren't really ready. Didn't see them get off many blocks. But maybe they take a step forward this time around. Grantham told me Jones is more explosive and stronger. He said Lott has flashed some athleticism.
Garrison Smith and Mike Thornton enter their 2nd season...stronger and smarter. These two guys were top-rated recruits. They figure to get some time as back-ups.
And when Grantham plays his NICKEL PACKAGE, Cornelius Washington and Ray Drew will probably be the ones putting their hand on the ground to rush the QB.
The 'Dogs figure to have 9 strong, talented guys up front this season. They could go from being a weakness (like last season) to a strength this season. Might see Geathers, Jenkins or Tyson getting post-season All-SEC love. And maybe, next summer those mags will have Georgia listed among the best D-Lines in CF.
