Jarvis Jones Eligibility in Question?
A city probe in Columbus has reportedly uncovered illegal activity by the Parks & Recreation Department. And that could land the 'Dogs starting OLB Jarvis Jones in trouble with the NCAA.
It seems that the city paid for 4 roundtrip airline tickets from LA to Atlanta, while Jarvis was playing for the Trojans at USC. Jones was playing AAU hoops back in Columbus, during that time. Georgia is not at fault, but the NCAA could sit him down for a few games in a suspension. Sure hope that's not the first 2 games of the season, against Boise State and South Carolina.
If that happened, Chase Vasser looks like the next LB up. He played tough in the spring game.
Jarvis was impressive during the spring and earned the starting role at one of the OLB spots. He's impressive out in space, which is a skill set this LB position group needs. Highly-recruited freshman Ray Drew looks to be a better fit at Cornelius Washington's spot, where he can put his hand on the ground and rush the passer some.
