Can 'Dogs Defense Hunker Down?

Bobo's Offense has lost some depth at key positions. The O-Line is razor thin. The RB position is down to the minimum. Best case scenario: there are no injuries on the OL and Crowell turns out to be a stud. Let's hope for those 2 things.
But let's be real...the key to the season lies on the other side of the ball.
Grantham's 'Dog Defense has to lead the way; especially in the first 2 games. Let me be clear: to start the season 2-0, the Georgia defense has to Hunker Down in a big way. Then, all season long this unit has to deliver a top-of-the-SEC performance level. Get up top with Alabama.
Anything less will not be good enough. Three things need to happen.
1- JC transfer Jonathan Jenkins has got to be our Cody/Fairley.
2- Freshman Ray Drew gets delivers on 3rd Down in the Nickel Package.
3- Alec Ogletree is the next great Georgia LB.
Sources tell me Jenkins is the fastest DL during conditioning this summer. He's in shape. And Jonathan is a mature guy...just turned 22 and full grown at 6'4", 340 pounds. He was recruited to bring immediate impact. Can't wait to see him get off the double team in practice.
Drew's impact is a flip of the coin, but he was one of the top-rated players in HS. The one thing that he can do right now is rush the passer, so that leads me to believe Grantham will have his hand on the ground, in the 3rd down/Nickel Package. If Drew can make an impact, that would be huge. Last season, the 'Dogs Defense was last in the SEC on 3rd down, allowing a conversion rate of 47%.
Ogletree appears to be headed towards a huge season (average 10 tackles a game). His skill set: Ability to chase sideline-to-sideline. With the DL much-improved, Ogletree should be able to be on the attack.
