'Dogs Report For Camp
Here we go. Another much anticipated Georgia Bulldog season is underway. The 'Dogs have reported to campus. First practice is Thursday evening. By the way, I'll be n Athens Thursday, as 680 The Fan brings you live coverage of the Richt Press Conference. Then, we'll bring you the Buck & KIncade Show, with me riding solo (Kincade on vacation). Join us on 680thefan.com, if you live outside of the Atlanta area.
The big question I have is this: Can Richt afford to have a physical camp, with the 'Dogs being so thin at RB, OL, and LB? Losing anyone at those 3 position groups would be tough. It's a balancing act. Need to get them ready for Boise State and South Carolina. So, you have to go live some. Just hope no one goes down hurt.
Best case scenario: 1- The starters on the O-Line stay healthy (like 2002). 2- Crowell makes big plays and holds on to the ball. 3- The D-Line dominates, which I expect. 4- Ogletree is a star at LB. 5- Special teams is as special as it's appears to be on paper.
Other needs: 1- Jarvis Jones is not ruled ineligible. 2- Marlon Brown and/or Malcolm Mitchell emerge as reliable weapons. 3- Branden Smith and Brandon Boykin benefit from the new QB pressures and battle for the interception lead. 4- Ray Drew brings heat off the edge.
Richt and his staff have 29 practices to get ready. Boise State looms, as a Top 10 team. Got to get ready to "Hunker Down."
