Great News: No Major Injuries in Camp
Time to get focused on Boise State. Summer Camp is over. And there were no major injuries, which obviously is great news. Spoke with Coach Bobo yesterday and he was relieved that they didn't take any hits on the O-Line. You can stop holding your breath now. It's full speed ahead.
Crowell and Samuel got dinged up a little, but they managed to get through it. So, those two guys are ready to go. Malcome survived too. He may have turned the corner.
But the best news is the O-Line hanging tough in camp. The Top 5 are ready to roll. Really couldn't afford to lose any of those guys.
On defense, it looks to me like Grantham is in good shape too. There have been some minor stuff to deal with---Jenkins dealing with the heat and that hammy---but this side of the ball came out of camp without any major casualties.
I'm excited about all 3 levels of the defense. The D-Line should be the most improved area on the team. The LB group now has some playmakers. Safety appears pretty solid. But I really like the CB spot. Boykin and Smith are highly skilled playmakers, who can cover. And Commings is a big, physical option.
Time to go pull out your red Geogia gear. I've got plenty of red shirts, but no red pants...hold on, I've got those 1979-80 red football pants I could pull out. That would be fun....walking into the Georgia Dome press box, "all in", with all red.

Buck can you really fit into those pants from 1980?

One significant major injury was Jakar Hamilton's leg. Affects our debth in the secondary and on special teams. One of the freshman or RS freshmen will have to step up. We were alreay thin at safety. Agree that it is critically important to keep our OL healthy - similar to 2002 ???? with David Greene at QB. Continuity on the OL in 2011 will play a major part in our success.
What's your intell on QB Murray's passing workouts keying on his accuracy for 2011? I know his QB rating is very strong, but he seemed to miss some significant throws last year.

Best Bulldog blog their is - but then again it's from one of the best all time Bulldogs - great articles as usual Buck. Looking for our defense to well put a hurt on BSU ... I know the offense won't click on all cylinders but that defense is well frightening - I don't see BSU having a good time in the dome offensively - and the depth of the defense - is well scary good - all I can say is my favorite tag line to a non-SEC opponent - "Welcome to SEC football" Keep up the great articles Buck.
