Will Branden Smith Play Ball?
Kellen Moore is going to throw it all over the field. The 'Dog corners better show up in an aggressive mood. Boykin is confident. But what about Branden Smith? Twisted his foot in practice last Thursday and was seen wearing a boot. That sounds like trouble to me.
Grantham has 2 fast & talented CBs with Boykin and Smith. But they need both of them. Without one, the 'Dogs defense appears vulnerable. Jordan Love is the nickel corner and Damian Swann is the next man up. Both are unproven.
Sanders Commings is set the start at free safety, so moving him back to corner isn't something they want to do.
Boise State QB Kellen Moore is probably anxious to hear about Smith. If it's a no go, expect Kellen to be attacking Love or Swann early and often. Find out if they can tackle, defend and cover. That's a lot to ask out of Swann. Love should be ready to play ball, this is his 3rd year in the program.
