Big Edge in Special Teams?
Bet Boise State's Coaching Staff is concerned about handling Georgia's special teams. We feature some of the top specialists in CF. Blair Walsh is an accomplished kicker. Drew Butler is CFs top punter. And Brandon Boykin is a rocket on returns. The 'Dogs also feature athletic cover teams. This is a tough match-up for the Broncos.
Let Boykin get loose on a return and it can turn the game towards Georgia. Imagine the roof coming off the Georgia Dome. Wonder if Coach Petersen kicks it to him? And did you see the tweet? Boykin dared Peterson to kick it to him. Boise is concerned about covering kicks.
Butler can have a huge impact too. Drew can bomb it. That can flip the field position, which is huge. OR if the 'Dogs are backed up and have to punt, Butler can get them out of a hole. Wonder if he can hit the roof?
Walsh has been almost automatic, although this is a game where a premium is put on TDs (Broncos can score points). If it comes down to a late FG, I like Blair's chances of drilling it.
Much will be made of the match-ups on offense and defense, but these big games can be decided by special teams play. And we look to have an edge here. Bet Boise is concerned about that.
