'Dogs-Gamecocks Match-Ups
The Georgia OTs have tough challenges on Saturday. Pre-Season All-SEC DE Devin Taylor gets Justin Anderson. Cordy Glenn faces freshman sensation Jadeveon Clowney. Both of these guys are speed rushers, who can come off the edge. Looks like SC has moved Melvin Ingram inside to DT. Gamecocks do a lot of twisting and stunting up front.
Malcolm Mitchell probably gets some of Tavarres King's playing time. TK had the drops last Saturday. Malcolm is a playmaker. Got to get him the ball. Marlon Brown looks better. SC has a top-rated CB in Stephon Gilmore. The other 2 CBs are senior's (Whitlock & Auguste) .
On defense, we match up pretty well in the secondary. Rambo is back to help tackle Lattimore. One adjustment Grantham could make is to try and match-up Sanders Commings (our big cover guy) with star WR Alshon Jeffrey. Both Smith and Boykin are at a size disadvantage. Sure like the way Jordan Love played against Boise State. He's game-ready. So, we've got 4 good cover guys.
The big problem this week is replacing Alec Ogletree at ILB. Lattimore is probably licking his chops. Grantham needs to come up with a plan quick. Will it be the freshman Herrera? Michael Gilliard? Or walk-on Jeremy Sulek? Maybe Chase Vasser?
You can bet Spurrier's running Lattimore directly at that spot where Ogletree used to be.
