Got To Turn Crowell Loose

Isaiah Crowell gets the ball "Between the Hedges" for the first time tomorrow. Bet he's motivated to keep pace with Marcus Lattimore. Sure hope that brings out the best in him. Should be a busy day for Isaiah.
Crowell carried it 15 times for 60 yards against Boise State, with his long run being 12 yards. Decent start. Not many holes to hit. And he's got to clean up his pass-blocking. But overall, I was impressed. It was his first taste of big-time CF. Hopefully, he's ready to elevate his play in Game 2.
Richard Samuel doesn't appear healthy enough to make an impact, so Coach Bobo is probably looking to increase the work load for Isaiah against the Gamecocks. Is he ready for 37 carries, like Lattimore got against us last year? No, but he should expect 20+ touches in this one.
Still don't see him as a between the tackles guy, running exclusively out of the I-Formation. He's a scat back type. Mike is trying to get him the ball in space, where he can be explosive. And again, his skill set includes this: Isaiah is an excellent receiver.
I was watching the new Gators on offense this week. And Brantley got Jeff Demps the ball from his RB spot, on a swing pass that went for a score. Sure liked the look of that. Brantley stared down the Z WR running a stop route. The coverage took that away...and he went to Demps on the "wide" route. Touchdown. Got to get Isaiah involved in the pass game.
Ride him. Feed him. Get him the ball.
