Richt Calls Nutt Situation "Sad"
In Athens today, at the Richt Press Conference. Got to speak with Coach Richt briefly. He seemed more upbeat and had more "juice" today, as compared to last week. Even a win against Coastal Carolina can be good medicine.
He was asked about Coach Nutt's hotseat situation. He mentioned how sad it was that some Ole MIss alumni had leased out billboards to slam him. Nutt is on the way out in Oxford. Get ready for a change. Sounds like they are going to clean house.
In the meantime, the 'Dogs are excited about going on the road. This should be part of the growing process for these young pups. I feel good about the veteran leadership on this team. They will set the tone. Show the young dudes it's serious. It's a business trip.
Concerned this week about our D-Line and ILBs. Rebels come at you hard with the running game. They run that zone running play, behind a large OL. Got to play physical in this one. Abry Jones, Garrison Smith, Derrick Lott, Kwame Geathers and John Jenkins need to play ball. DeAngelo Tyson is questionable. We go with two 220 lb. ILBs, with Michael Gilliard and Shawn Williams. Let's hope they play big.
On the OL, it looks like Gates is the back-up now. Dallas Lee has played well enough to keep the LG job. Kenarious is also the #3 OT. This group is not going to be a dominant OL. Got to hope they can execute.
