'Dogs Prep For Nashville Trip

Coach Richt was busying breaking down Vanderbilt today, at his weekly press conference. Thought it was a funny moment, when Richt seemed to hesitate, as he started to compliment the Vanderbilt coach. He wanted to get it right. Check the notes. James Franklin. Yeah, James Franklin. That's right, Robbie Caldwell didn't last very long.
Mark also seemed to pass on an opportunity to brag on the defense. Media asked several times. "Don't want to get too excited yet," he stated. Another good move. Got to keep improving, if you want to run the table. And that defense still needs to lead the way.
Mike Gilliard has been so impressive. And not just because we're both from Valdosta. Against Boise State, I wondered if he could play. Not anymore. SEC Defensive Player of the Week. He's all over the field. Gilliard and Herrera have really saved the day, on this side of the ball. When Ogletree & Robinson got hurt, it looked like the level of play was going down. No so. Christian is back now and Ogletree is back soon. And ILB is a position of strength.
Up front, big Jenkins and big Kwame have a good competition going on. This is a spot that can be strong down the stretch too. We're talking point of attack strong here...Nose and ILB. We're strong at both spots.
Richt is sure Malcolm Mitchell will be back making plays in Jacksonville. Meanwhile, he'll rest the hammy. Crowell's wrist is sprained, but he'll go with it. Isaiah is tough. Add that to his skill set. He can run it, catch it and take the abuse. Still got to get him coached up in protection. Not that I'm complaining.
Chris Burnette played strong against Tennessee at OG. He and Dallas Lee are mobile guards. They can move. Figgins has been a good blocking fullback too.
Looks like Grantham will face Aaron Rodgers brother at QB this week. His name is Jordan Rodgers, but he doesn't have the weapons that his older bro has in Green Bay.
