The Vanderbilt Fallout

Allegedly, Vanderbilt Head Coach James Franklin started the post-game scene, by telling Shawn Williams he played like a thug. Grantham reportedly heard that and told Franklin he was going to kick his butt. Richt got there and helped put out the fuse. No brawl, but the cameras rolled on all of the posturing and it made for good TV.
Greg McGarity met with Richt and Grantham this morning. And McGarity will send a report to the SEC office.
The message to Grantham? Chill, dude. We love the job you're doing as the DC, but from now on, we want you to exit the field in a timely manner. Georgia can't have you at midfield screaming at the other head coach, even if he calls one of our players a mean name.
Grantham is doing an outstanding job, but now he has two bad reports in his file. Remember the choke sign in Jacksonville last year? The media will play off this, obviously. However, Grantham's street cred may have gone up in the Bulldog nation. Most of the 'Dog fans I speak with like his fire and intensity. Some others are now concerned about image.
Sure liked the way Shawn Williams was all over the field making plays in Nashville. But I was a little uneasy about some of the posturing. Like the enthusiasm. Don't like the posturing.
