Next Up: Muschamp's Gators
My Gators source says QB John Brantley isn't practicing this week. But the way he said it makes me believe that Brantley will be practicing next week. Go ahead and get ready to see Brantley in Jax. It's a high ankle sprain and he's had 3 weeks to treat the injury. Did I mention that John's a senior? It's his last shot against Georgia. I'll bet he gives it a go, with it taped up tight.
Otherwise, the Gators are in danger of losing to Georgia. Read that slowly. I know it's difficult to believe... winning in Jacksonville against the Gators.
Pat Dooley of the Gainesville Sun told me he introduced Muschamp to a Gator group in Jacksonville on Monday night. And then, Muschamp took off for Daytona to speak to another group. He's busy selling the brand. And telling the Gator Nation not to panic.
Richt guaranteed Malcom Mitchell will be back for Florida. Hope that hamstring is healed up and he's ready to run deep. Vanderbilt blitzed and played man...with success. Look for the Gators to do the same. We need Malcolm to make some plays.
Concerned about Crowell's hand. He can't catch the ball right now. I believe Coach Bobo was planning on using that skill set about now. Sure hope that heals up quick. And why didn't he start or play much against Vandy? Word I got was Isaiah was mouthy towards an academic staff member. LIve and learn.
Also, I can't imagine Alec Ogletree just stepping in and balling. He's got to have some major rust to knock off. And it wasn't like Alec was tearing it up in the Boise State game before he got injured. It's just hard to get Gilliard out of there, the level he playing at. And Herrera is obviously a player.
Is Kwame Geathers suspended yet? He took a cut block from one of those mean Vanderbilt OL and landed a right hand. Expect him to miss the first half in Jacksonville. Good thing big Jenkins has stepped up his play.
