Georgia Beats Florida!
So proud of this Bulldog team and staff. Getting this win was far from easy, but it probably made it even more satisfying. Not much seems easy against the Gators these days. Adversity hit us early, but those guys refused to give in.
The first half was frustrating. Demps hit us on first play with a 72 yard catch and run (Boykin ran him down). Rambo blew a coverage, on Gators first score. Murray got picked 2 plays later (we held them). Poor kick coverage resulted in Demps taking one to the house, to go up 14-3. Walsh FG struggles continued. It was going the Gators way early.
But the 'Dogs refused to lay down. Refused to give in. Our guys showed heart and toughness. So proud of those guys for hanging tough.
Richt & Bobo cashed in twice on 4th down throws, where Murray hit Bennett and King for huge scores. Don't believe you can put a price tag on those two plays. Priceless. Bennett & King made huge catches in tight coverage. Richard Samuel showed up big, gashing the Gators with tough running. Richard and Isaiah combined for 35 carries and 139 yards (3.9 yards per carry). Murray played a clean game (the INTC wasn't his fault).
Jarvis Jones was unblockable. He had 4 sacks and a forced fumble. And he gave us some insight into Urban Meyer after the game. Jarvis says Urban told him during recruiting, "go to Georgia and we'll beat you every year." Awesome game, Jarvis.
Charle Weis and Muschamp played mind games with Brantley's status, in pre-game. That was silly. Brantley toughed it out, but check the Gators stat sheet: 2-13 on 3rd down, -19 yards rushing and 13 points. Grantham's guys Hunkered Down.
