Formula For Bulldog Win
In the next blog, I'll talk about the many problems this great LSU team creates for its opponents. But this one is dedicated to how Georgia pulls off the big upset. The recipe for success is built around two areas. And there is one for each side of the ball.
Georgia fans should be confident that the Bulldog defense can hang with LSU. Coach Grantham has these guys "Hunkering Down." They are strong on all 3 levels. Don't believe they'll get pushed around like Arkansas.
KEY #1: The Bulldog defense has got to get to Jordan Jefferson. Bring some heat. Knock him around some. Turn Jarvis Jones loose. Blitz him. Do that...and I can see Jefferson throwing a few picks. He's not the most poised guy in the pocket. Jordan looks capable of making some questionable decisions.
Over on offense, the Bulldogs need balance. That's how you effectively attack an outstanding defense. Run it, when they are expecting pass. Throw it, when they are focused on stopping the run. Keep them off-balance.
KEY #2: The Georgia offense needs a big performance from Isaiah Crowell. He's capable of breaking off some big runs. Taking one to the house would be huge. Isaiah has had a couple of weeks to rest and rehab. He will be fresh. And he's got to hold up. Malcome, Harton and Carlton Thomas are not the answer in this game. Crowell has the talent to impact this game.
Georgia has the talent to match up. And they need both of these things to happen to pull off the upset.
