Timing Right to Feature Todd Gurley
Time to feed the young man. Bet he has a big day.
Todd Gurley has made a big splash, in his first two college games. Man, that debut was exciting. He showed off his speed and acceleration. Last week in Missouri, it was a learning experience...first time on the road, in a crazy atmosphere. Gurley has had 2 good weeks to get more comfortable.
Now it's time to go big. This guy is way better than good.
The Florida Atlantic Owls defense is undersized. They have issues against the run game. So, you've got to figure that Coach Bobo is looking to get this rushing attack going. Remember...the SEC schedule is next.
Give it to Gurley 20 times! See what happens, when he gets a full load. Todd got 8 carries in his debut. Against Mizzou, he got 10 totes. Time to increase the touches.
Gurley could benefit from an increased work load. Get him ready for SEC play. And make Vandy, Tennessee and South Carolina sweat a little more.
I look at it this way. If he just gets 8-10 carries again, his growth is slowed down. Push him now. See how he responds. The guess here is that he flourishes. And that helps him AND the offense, as the 'Dogs face early SEC competition.
This could be a huge day for Gurley. Twenty carries could equal a 200 yard day.
