Gamecocks Body-Slam 'Dogs!

The 'Dogs got dominated. Simple as that. The Gamecocks are better than us. Tougher. Better.
Obviously, we got beat up front. Our O-line got it handed to them. Gates got dominated at left tackle against Clowney. Inside, we got whipped too. And when you get beat up front, bad things happen.
Murray tried to speed up his drops, reads and release...and missed some guys because of it. Can't blame him for that. Otherwise, he would have taken an even worse beating.
Our start to the big game was a worst-case scenario. The worst start imaginable.
Grantham's defense allowed a game-opening 5 play, 76 yard TD drive. That set the tone and got the crowd rocking. Rambo had a shot to make a big play and didn't. The offense starts the game with a tipped ball interception and a 3-and-out. Then, the punt team gives up a 70 yard TD return. BOOM! It's 21-0.
Disappointing end to the first half. Had a few chances to put some points on the board and make a game of it...and didn't. Got ball to start 2nd half and did nothing. 'Dogs defense forced a 3-and-out and get the ball back, the offese got stoned again.
As Bobo and Murray stated postgame, our 1st down performance was terrible. In the 1st half, we had ten 1st-and-10 plays and averaged 2.5 yards a play. we only had 2 productive plays out of those 10. That got us in way too many 3rd and longs. Recipe for disaster, against that defense.
Obviously, we couldn't block them. The O-Line concerns were legitimate. Average at best.
The one gripe I had was that the ball wasn't going to our playmakers, when we got down. The ball went to Wooten more than it went to Malcolm Mitchell. Don't get that. Ball went to Marlon more than King. Don't understand it. Jay Rome barely got on the field. He was a big target that went unused.
It was the biggest game of the season and Malcolm Mitchell touched it 6 times (and almost took two to the house). Coach Bobo did go to him on that 3rd and goal, before halftime...but the back shoulder throw was well-defended. Just feel like Malcolm has been mismanaged. He tried to help the defense at CB and that ended up costing him.
Grantham's 3-4 scheme obviously, isn't the greatest against a stud RB like Lattimore. Too many bubbles to hit. Not enough penetration. No run plays blown up. Not enough plays made on their side of ball. Our D-Line lost the battle up front too.
We've been playing South Caroilina since 1894 and that was the worst beating ever. That's hard to take.

    1. 1-10 vs top ten teams since 08? (Something around that)

    2. Losses to Colorado, central Florida, etc. Are pathetic and should never happen at Georgia

    3. Lack of discipline, bad play calling(draws vs Usc after you know they don't work), bad conditioning(good ex. Vs lsu 2nd half last year)

    4. Excuses like: football is just a game( no its not where are you from!), we still have a lot to play for, we lost as a team( so you still have a loss!),
We weren't flat we just got our tails whipped(0 points until the gift 7 isn't flat?)

These are all problems that are caused by the coaching staff. We recruit the same players as Bama, lsu, Florida, and auburn who have all won national championships in the past six years.

It is 100% the coaches. They don't coach up, condition, or discipline(assignments) the players properly.

I do not agree with the egging of the players house. And no I don't want anyone to egg richts house. He is a good man and I like him, but as a coach he is just not working out. What people should be doing is encouraging mcgarity to make a change. We need new blood.

We are tired of settling for mediocrity. Our schools name is just as big as all the sec schools who have been winning national championships. Their is no reason we should not have at least one since richt has been here.

This is not out of hate its out of pain that the bulldog nation has endured for 32 years!

    Thanks.

This was a real tough one Buck. Really embarassing to get whipped to the point were you almost didn't feel like we were in the same league as SC. It reminded me of the scar I still have left from the 2008 Alabama game - Nick Sabon's "I'm here" statment to Coach Richt.
Hard thing for me to swallow is that I actually expected it. This administration's trend is to get out-whitted and out-played in the big games.
Too much talent for that kind of showing Buck.
I just don't have any confidence in this staff to be able to take a team to a BCS championship. Don't know exactly what it is - not going to pretend to. But at some point, you can't keep blaming the players. At some point you realize, it is the coaches' responsibility to get the players ready to go, and the UGA coaches really can't seem to do that in the big games.
A lot of our games over the years have acquired names: "hob nailed boot," "run Lindsay, run,"...This one just might end up being: "The last straw."
I just don't think Richt has any more in the tank. Nothing left to show. We've seen his best and with the talent available here in Georgia and the southeast, I personally believe we can do better.

It is time for a change on the Offensive side of the ball. Bobo and Friend are NOT the answer. UGA has all this talent and the offense has the same problems it did last year.

Spot On! If your O-line gets dominated, you can't win! When your D-line can't stop the run, you lose! When your special teams can't tackle the return man, you lose! DAWGS have an identity crisis, if that WHOOOPIN' don't put a chip on a teams shoulder nothing will. The measure of a man is determined when he is punched in the mouth. Georgia just got their front teeth knocked out, how will they respond?
